Donald Duck is a temperamental duck coming from classic Disney cartoons to join the fray. He was first created in 1934 by Dick Lundy and Walt Disney for the short film The Wise Little Hen. He is a quick-to anger and cocky duck ready to explode at a moment's notice, reflected heavily in his move set, more literally in some places.

Donald is a glass-cannon close-quarters brawler type character with many explosive and powerful tools at his disposal. He has to be careful using these, however, due to his slower all-around speeds, very light weight, and poor recovery options. He has potential to pull off dangerous combos and take stocks with devastating moves, as long as he can line up his shot well.

The sprites used for this incarnation of Donald come from a M.U.G.E.N. MVC2 styled custom character created by ZoroWarner on DeviantArt. Minor edits were made to fix certain colors and sprites to fit the platform-fighter game. Number graphics were designed by Atlas. Sound effects almost exclusively come from the Kingdom Hearts game series.

Jab A three hit jab combo with three consecutive punches, the third launching the opponent moderately far.
Forward Tilt A short kick straight forward that launches sideways.
Up Tilt Donald swings his foot up to kick the opponent in the air.
Down Tilt A short-ranged poke kick on the ground.
Forward Strong Donald swings a bat forwards to launch the opponent. The bat also reflects projectiles with the same hitboxes.
Up Strong Donald jumps up into a bicycle kick that sends up wards with the early hitbox with a second late hitbox that sends opponents somewhat behind him.
Down Strong Donald pulls out a stick of dynamite and holds it out to explode in front of him. The dynamite does much more knockback the closer to the blast radius the opponent is.
Dash Attack Donald charges forward swinging his arms angrily, with the second hit launch opponents.

Neutral Aerial Donald quickly swings his sailor cap down in front of him, dealing some damage and barely launching the opponent.
Forward Aerial Donald slices forward after a brief pause with his hands twice, with the first hit dealing great hitstun and the second hit launching opponents incredibly far.
Back Aerial Donald kicks behind himself in the air.
Up Aerial Donald Spins himself upwards to kick into the air for light knockback.
Down Aerial Donald spins around like a helicopter, slowing his fall or his ascent briefly. His legs deal damage 4 times, with the fourth sending the opponent with capped knockback.

Grab The usual grab, although with shorter range than most due to his shorter arms.
Froward Throw Donald brings out a hammer and strikes his opponent three times, launching them on the third hit.
Back Throw Donald spins around and kicks the opponent away.
Up Throw Donald jumps up and slams the opponent onto the ground, launching them straight up and slightly behind him with great knockback.
Down throw Donald @$$ smashes his opponent twice, sending them forwards on the second hit.

Getup Attack Donald quickly gets up and punches low in front of him and then behind him.
Ledge Attack Donald pulls himself forward from the ledge and lunges forward with his beak.

Neutral Special Donald summons a machine gun, firing 6 shots normally that deal damage in front of him. The shots deal more damage and knockback closer to the gun, with the farthest dealing no knockback. The button can be mashed to fire shots conistantly.
Side Special Donald briefly dons boxing gloves and shorts and charges forward angrily swinging his arms, similarly to his dash attack. After 5 hits dragging opponents with him, he swings his arm into an uppercut, launching opponents upwards. This can be used once in the air and brings him forward a moderate distance.
Up Special In a reference to Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow, Donald dons ninja gear and strikes in front of him on the ground. He then leaps upward quickly, dealing damage multiple times knocking opponents upward with him, before swinging back downwards, spiking opponents and plummeting back to the ground for one last hit launching opponents forwards. Donald will continue to plummet until he either hits the ground or the blast zone, and his movement can not be influenced. When used in the air, he immediately swings upwards without the first swing.
Down Special Donald shortly dons his wizard gear from the Kingdom Hearts Series, and lifts his staff charging a powerful attack. After using the move three times, on it's next use, Donald will fire a large long-reaching beam of energy, dealing incredible damage to enemies and powerful knockback on the last hit. When used in the air his fall will slow somewhat and drag opponents down with the beam.

There is a cooldown between uses to charge. The current stage Donald is at can be determined by the number that appear above him and the voice line he uses. The charge DOES NOT TAKE EFFECT until after the number disappears completely. At 1, he will shout "Gyeah!" At 2, he will shout "I Got It!" At 3, he will shout "Okay!"

Trivia[]

  • All of Donald's voice lines come from the Kingdom Hearts series where he is voiced by Tony Anselmo, the official voice of Donald Duck since 1985. Specifically lines were used from Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.
  • Donald wasn't intended to be Atlas' first character, however after scrolling around the M.U.G.E.N. character databases, he found an MvC style Donald Duck and thought it was too good to pass up.
